The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy has set up an Iran Contact Point. Companies with queries about doing business with Iran can approach it for advice.

The German government regrets the new situation regarding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA) and – like France and the UK (the other E3 countries) and the European Union – wishes to stick to the agreement. The sanctions relief granted by the European Union remains in place. In view of the developments, the Economic Affairs Ministry has set up the contact point to answer questions from companies, and small and medium-sized enterprises in particular.

Companies can now contact the Ministry via Kontaktstelle-Iran@bmwk.bund.de. Also, the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) has set up a hotline for questions about the Iran embargo. You can find more information (in German) on the website of the Economic Affairs Ministry, with links to further information from the BAFA and Germany Trade and Invest.

Federal Government export credit guarantees and investment guarantees continue to be available.

Please note that the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy is not permitted to offer legal advice.
