Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier today spoke via video link with the SME Advisory Board of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The focus of today's meeting was on discussing ways to overcome the current coronavirus crisis.

Minister Altmaier said: "I would like to thank the SME Advisory Board for the stimulating discussion. It is very important to me to hear what businesses have to say as they play an important role in overcoming the crisis. Only if we work together will we be able to quickly overcome the current crisis and get off to a successful new start. Then we will emerge from the crisis stronger than before. And this should be the goal of all of us."

Since 1956, the SME Advisory Board has been advising the respective Federal Economic Affairs Ministers on all economic policy aspects relevant to SMEs. The members of the SME Advisory Board appointed by Minister Altmaier represent the full range and diversity of modern medium-sized businesses. The members are entrepreneurs from SMEs in the industrial, craft and services sectors, IT, the energy sector, medical technology and the creative industries.
