At the beginning of his visit, Federal Minister Robert Habeck said: "Poland is our neighbour and a close economic partner. We are already working closely together in many central forward-looking areas, including microelectronics and research on battery cells. This cooperation is essential because we need to join forces in order to make the green and digital transitions in the European Union a success."

Germany has been Poland’s most important trading partner for many years. In terms of German foreign trade, Poland in 2020 for the first time climbed to fifth place among Germany’s trading partners.
