Commenting on the latest reports on Nord Stream 1, Federal Minister Robert Habeck said:

"The latest reports clearly show that the Russian side's justification is simply a pretext. It is quite obviously their strategy to create uncertainty and drive up prices.

We can currently buy the quantities of gas we need from the market, albeit at higher prices. Our gas storage facilities are still being filled and security of supply is ensured. But we are monitoring the situation very closely and are in close contact with the relevant players about the crisis structures in place.

The current situation also shows that saving energy is the order of the day. And we will of course also take government action should this become necessary."
