A spokesperson of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action commented as follows on the renewed reductions in supplies via Nord Stream 1 announced by Gazprom Export:

“We have taken note of the announcement. We are monitoring the situation very precisely in close contact with the Bundesnetzagentur (Federal Network Agency) and the gas crisis team. According to our information, there is no technical reason to reduce supplies.
The preconditions for approval of the shipment of the relevant turbine under sanctions rules are in place. Canada has issued the necessary exemption under Canadian law. No exemption is required under EU sanctions legislation.”
