Michael Kellner, the Federal government’s contact person for the cultural and creative industries, and his deputy in this role, Dr Andreas Görgen, director of the office of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, today met for a first round of talks with representatives of the cultural and creative industries. They discussed not only issues regarding their future cooperation but also current developments such as the energy crisis, the skills gap and ways in which the visibility of the cultural and creative industries could be raised.

Michael Kellner, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action said: “Today’s talks have highlighted the importance of the cultural and creative industries for our country. In a time marked by crises, the ideas and approaches developed by the cultural and creative industries are offering exciting prospects, providing us with new impetus and triggering innovation. The professional associations have talked about the challenges they are facing, their expectations towards the Federal government and where we need to work together in order for the industries to continue their success story. I am taking these proposals with me and I look forward to providing my support and to continuing the dialogue with what is a key economic sector.”
