Cover 'Aviation Strategy of the Federal German Government'

The Federal Government's aviation strategy aims to make Germany a global technological pioneer for an environmentally friendly, safe, efficient, competitive and not least passenger-friendly aviation system. For this purpose, the economic and technological strength of Airbus Group, Europe's systems leader, is as important as the innovative power and the global competitiveness of the broad range of suppliers in Germany.

The key elements of the aviation strategy include the promotion of basic research by the German Aerospace Center (DLR), research funding in the context of the national aviation research programme (LuFo) and EU research programmes within the framework of Horizon 2020, and the loan programme for the financing of industrial development costs.
