How is the digital transformation of the German economy coming along? Where do we see progress? And what challenges remain? And how does Germany compare to other countries in terms of digital adoption? The DIGITAL Economy 2017 monitoring report provides answers to these questions.

Two different indexes are used to reflect the extent to which the German economy has been digitised. The DIGITAL Economy Index measures the current and future level of digital adoption in German trade and industry, manufacturing and the services sector in ten key sectors and in companies of different sizes. The DIGITAL Location Index compares the strength and competitiveness of Germany’s digital economy (ICT industry and internet sector) with that of nine other countries.

The monitoring report is being conducted by Kantar TNS and the Centre for European Economic Research on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
