The programme is a competition with a three-phase approach to the funding of integrated regional hydrogen concepts. The HyLand competition is part of the National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Innovation Programme. Support is to go to municipalities and regions to identify the local potential of this key enabling technology (HyStarter), to draw up viable concepts (HyExperts) and to proactively implement projects with private-sector companies (HyPerformer). These three categories – HyStarter, HyExperts and HyPerformer – are addressed to regions and municipalities with different levels of development in the field of hydrogen and therefore contain a variety of funding instruments in order to provide targeted support:
• the initiation of locally integrated mobility concepts (HyStarter),
• the fine-tuning of existing rough concepts (HyExperts),
• the implementation of the concepts via specific procurement (HyPerformer)
