• Deadline: The competition is closed.

A Hydrogen Innovation and Technology Centre is to be set up to serve as a development, certification and standardisation facility. As hydrogen is only in the early market phase and due to the high-level costs associated with this, the centre cannot be realised without support from the public sector. The new centre is to offer small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular, as well as start-ups, a development environment that will enable them to position themselves for international competition. The competition is being administered by Nationale Organisation Wasserstoff- und Brennstoffzellentechnologie (NOW GmbH) and Projektträger Jülich (PtJ). Chemnitz, Duisburg, Pfeffenhausen and a northern German cluster (Hamburg, Bremen, Stade) were selected as locations for the centre.
