The Advisory Council for Tourism Matters at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy is tasked with advising the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy on tourism policy issues.


The Advisory Council consists of representatives from enterprises and associations of various parts of the tourism industry, transport companies, destinations and academia. Membership of the Board is a personal honorary office. The Advisory Council is appointed for the term of the current parliament. The Advisory Board on Tourism Issues was established by a decree of the Federal Minister of Economics of 30 June 1977 which was confirmed in subsequent terms of legislation.
