How does etracker work? A script on our website triggers an http request which automatically forwards your IP address and the user agent to etracker GmbH. The first action is that your IP address is automatically shortened. The software then pseudonymises the transmitted data solely in order to identify multiple uses during the session. After seven days, all the attributions to the session are deleted, and your statistical data are entirely anonymised. etracker is a German company and processes your data exclusively on our behalf on protected servers. The data are not passed on to other third parties. The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action is responsible for this processing of your data. You can contact our data protection officer at datenschutzbeauftragte@bmwk.bund.de. The legal basis is your consent in accordance with section 25(1) of the Act on Data Protection and the Protection of Privacy in Telecommunications and the Telemedia (TTDSG) in conjunction with Article 6(1)a of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and section 3(1) of the Act to Promote Electronic Government (EGovG). We have ensured that you can withdraw your consent at any time without any negative repercussions and wish to give you full control over the tracking on our website. A clean, secure and affordable energy supply is essential for all our lives. The energy transition – which reflects the efforts undertaken and results achieved on renewable energy expansion and energy efficiency – is the basis for this. By adopting the 2030 Climate Action Plan, the Federal Government has paved the way for meeting its climate targets for 2030. Its long-term goal is to achieve carbon neutrality in line with the targets agreed under the Paris Agreement, which seeks to keep the goal of staying below 1.5 degrees within reach. In addition, Germany has committed itself, together with the other European Member States, to achieving greenhouse gas (GHG) neutrality by 2050. In particular, this means preventing emissions which are particularly hard to reduce such as process-related GHG emissions from the industrial sector.
In order for the energy transition to be successful, security of supply, affordability and environmental compatibility need to be combined with innovative and smart climate action. This means that the fossil fuels we are currently using need to be replaced by alternative, renewable and sustainable options. This applies in particular to gaseous and liquid energy sources, which will continue to be an integral part of Germany’s energy supply. Hydrogen will play a central role in the further development and completion of the energy transition. In this context, green hydrogen and derivatives based on green hydrogen (i.e. power-to-x or PtX products) such as ammonia, methanol and SAF (renewable electricity based), are regarded as sustainable solutions.
If it is to cover its future demand for green hydrogen and green PtX products, Germany will have to import a substantial proportion of its overall needs. The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action will implement the H2Global funding concept from 2022 in order to ramp up the imports more quickly. As the first auctions are designed, it is necessary to have as precise as possible an understanding of the short-term potential availability of and demand for green PtX products.
To this end, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action was holding an international consultation of market players.
The virtual event took place on 13 July 2022. Interested stakeholders were invited to join the event. The event was recorded, so every interested party can follow up on the information given. The recording will be ready for download shortly.

Specifically, we would like to ask you to inform us if you plan to take part in this first H2Global tendering process (this information would be non-binding!) or – if that is the case – to let us know if there is anything in the planned process/criteria that would prevent you from doing so.
