The Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Robert Habeck, has welcomed the European Commission’s proposals for a European green industrial policy.

Robert Habeck, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action: “This is a very good proposal. We have the common goal of boosting the development of a green economy to become climate-neutral and strengthen the European Union as an attractive, competitive location for investment and innovation. Green markets will become lead markets in the near future. The Commission’s proposal sets the right priorities for this and fits in well with much of what we have proposed. Above all, we need faster procedures and better ways to promote the green technologies of the future. The Commission's plan provides a very good basis for the discussion with our European partners in the coming weeks. Germany will play a constructive role in this debate. It is in our interest to strengthen the competitiveness and innovative capacity of Germany’s industrial base. We will only be able to achieve this in a united and strong Europe."
