Since the Startup Strategy was adopted in the summer of 2022, the German Federal Government has already implemented more than 40% of the measures. This is shown in the first Fortschrittsbericht (PDF, 5 MB) on the implementation of the Startup Strategy, which was published today. The improved policy environment helps young and innovative enterprises to grow even more quickly and thus make a substantial contribution to the further development and the competitiveness of the German and European economies as a whole.

Economic Affairs Minister Dr Robert Habeck said: "I am proud that we have made such good progress on the implementation of the Startup Strategy. We have launched new funding instruments and support programmes and adopted or initiated new legislation. This shows that we want to and we will make Germany an even more attractive place for innovative startups, as one of the world’s top players in this field. We will continue to work on this in the Federal Government and together with the innovative startup community."

Dr Anna Christmann, Commissioner of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action for the Digital Economy and Startups, is also pleased. She said: "We have achieved a lot in just one year. The Future Financing Act is a genuine game changer. This is how we intend to finally resolve the dry income problem in Germany. I have worked to ensure that this also applies to larger startups. In future, it will become much more attractive for staff members to invest in innovative startups so that they can also benefit from their success."

In the first progress report, the Federal Government reports in detail on the status of the implementation of the Startup Strategy. The report will be presented and discussed today during an event with the innovative startup community in the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. Federal Minister Dr Robert Habeck will also be present at the event. You can download the report at www.startupstrategie.bmwk.de , where the Economic Affairs Ministry provides information about the progress.

You can find the core findings of the progress report and the progress on implementation in the ten major fields according to the Economic Affairs Ministry here (PDF, 642 KB).

In the coming years, the Federal Government will continue to report on further progress on the implementation of the Startup Strategy.
