Bundesminister Habeck im Zwiegespräch mit Premier Rishi Sunakin in London

Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck will be visiting London (UK) from 2 to 3 November. During his visit, he will be holding a number of bilateral talks about economic, trade, climate and energy policy issues with his UK counterparts. Furthermore, on behalf of the Federal Chancellor, Federal Minister Habeck will be attending the AI Safety Summit, which will be hosted by the UK Government on 2 November.

Federal Minister Habeck said: "It is important that we tap the potential of artificial intelligence for our economies and societies. This requires a legal framework which boosts confidence in this technology and at the same time fosters its development. We need to resolve this at the international level."

In addition to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, the host of the event, Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen are expected to attend the Summit.

On 3 November, Minister Habeck will be meeting with Claire Coutinho, Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero of the United Kingdom, with the aim to strengthen German-British energy cooperation. In a joint declaration, both sides reaffirm their wish to deepen cooperation in several fields, including hydrogen, energy security and renewable energy.
