Cover GreenTech Innovation Competition

Digitalisation has the potential to be a major contributing factor to the green transition of our economic systems. Possible synergistic effects between digitalisation and sustainability transition are increasingly finding their way into the spotlight. Digital technologies offer wide-ranging potential for sustainability: they can collect and evaluate environmental data and can contribute to the smart and efficient control of complex manufacturing and transport systems and to the establishment of new sustainable business models. With its “GreenTech Innovation Competition” technology programme, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action is offering targeted support to these developments, with the aim of making Germany a leader in the green technology and services sector.

This brochure presents 21 specific projects from the GreenTech Innovation Competition and gives an overview of their contributions towards meeting the climate and environmental protection targets of Germany and of the European Union.
