A spokesperson of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action said about today's Druzhba pipeline reports:

"On 11 October 2022, a pressure drop was detected in a part of the "Druzhba" pipeline system west of Plock. This information was delivered by the Polish pipeline operator PERN.

The Polish pipeline operator PERN and the Polish authorities are investigating the incident and the possible cause for it and are taking the necessary measures on site.
According to initial information from the Polish authorities, it is assumed that the damage was unintentional, and is not sabotage. However, the precise clarification of the facts is ongoing so that no conclusive information is available yet.

Security of supply in Germany is currently guaranteed. The two refineries Schwedt and Leuna currently continue to receive crude oil via the Druzhba pipeline "Freundschaft 1" via Poland. These deliveries are not interrupted.

We are monitoring the situation closely and are in close contact with all relevant departments. As a precaution, both at PCK Schwedt and at the Leuna refinery, the company's own oil stocks have been deliberately increased in the past few weeks. PCK Schwedt and the Leuna refinery also have supply routes through the ports of Rostock and Gdansk."
